Is Pro Speaking
An Impossible Dream?

"To Dream the Impossible Dream...." It's a lovely song and a beautiful sentiment... if you can afford it. But in today's unpredictable economic climate, the risks are simply too great to waste valuable resources chasing "impossible dreams".

But what about possible dreams? That's another story! For many people, there has never been a better time than now to pursue your dreams — your possible dreams, that is.

So what's your dream? In the back of their minds, many people have dreamed of a career as a professional speaker. The thought of the recognition — and fees — that come with a career as a pro speaker, has long been a wonderful daydream.

But let's face reality. Is it even possible to start a career as a pro speaker in this economy... much less be a success at it?

It won't surprise you that the answer is "it depends." But it might surprise you what it doesn't depend on.

Your success as a professional speaker has very little to do with your ability to address large groups of people — even when coupled with terrific speaking skills!

Or, putting it another way, your success as a professional speaker has almost nothing to do with being a "speaker" and everything with being a "professional".

But here's the good news.... If you recognize your career as a speaking professional as a business, and treat it like a business, a successful career as a professional speaker is not only possible... it just might be the only way you can survive — and ultimately thrive — in this turbulent economy.

If I'm "singing to the choir" (as my mother used to say) and you're already convinced that you want to pursue a career in professional speaking, then I urge you to not miss an incredible opportunity — the June 2010 production of Pro Speaking 101. Pro Speaking 101 will cut months — possibly years off your learning curve. And if you take advantage of PS101's "Early Bird" registration, you save money too! (Read more about Pro Speaking 101!)

But what if you're not already convinced that a career as a pro speaker is for you? You certainly shouldn't invest your money and time in something that you're not sure you want. If that's the case, I've got a different suggestion for you...

Speaking for Success

Speaking for Success starts with a 60-minute "Introduction to Pro Speaking" session that answers some of the most pressing questions about pro speaking, such as....

  • Why is pro speaking a "dream" career choice... especially in these challenging economic times?

  • What are the characteristics of a successful pro speaker? What skills does a pro speaker need to succeed?

  • What are the seven fatal mistakes that will doom a pro speaker's career?

  • What three essential components go into a successful career as a speaking professional?

  • Why is a speaking career three times more difficult than most other careers!

  • What are The Seven Principles of Success for a successful career as a pro speaker?

  • What 5 subjects must every professional speaker master in order to achieve a profitable career? (Not being an expert in all five of these areas will doom your career — no kidding!)

But that's just the beginning! The second part of Speaking of Success is another one-hour session, this one dedicated to answering your questions about professional speaking. That's right — there's no pre-set list of topics to be covered in the second session. I'll just answer as many of your questions, on whatever topics concern you, as I can.

(Because of the large number of people who will be participating in Speaking of Success, taking questions during the call itself will be impractical. So you'll be given the opportunity to submit your questions anytime before the start of the second session. That way, I can cover many more topics in that hour.)

Speaking of Success is designed to be convenient. It's 2 one-hour teleseminars (that is, seminars conducted over the telephone), which means you don't need to be at your computer for the actual sessions — all you need is a telephone. (And if you can't call in for the session, don't worry — each session will be recorded and you can listen to them on-line (or download them to your mp3 player or smart phone and listen to them at your convenience). Access to the recordings, like the SoS program itself, is completely free.

The session recordings offer another bonus. With the teleseminars, you are responsible for any long-distance charges you might incur in calling in to the seminar. This isn't a problem for most people who have abundant minutes in their long-distance plans. But a few people — including people outside the U.S. who have to pay International rates — might have a problem. But accessing the recordings doesn't cost you anything at all. All you need is access to the Internet!

Now I don't want to mislead you. Will the Speaking of Success Program tell you everything you need to know about being a pro speaker? Of course not! But it's a darned good introduction to what a career as a speaking pro is really like.

So if you're eager to explore a little about the fascinating world of pro speaking, without any commitment (except for a little bit of your time), I urge you to sign up for the Speaking of Success program today. (The program is free, but you need to register first so I can send you the call details.) And if your schedule doesn't permit you to make the actual call, you can always download the sessions (or listen to them on-line) at your convenience. But you must register to access the recordings!

I almost forgot to mention the Speaking of Success Idea-Exchange Forum. This is an opportunity for you to exchange ideas with other aspiring speakers, even before the first SoS session begins! It's also free... but again, you must register before you can gain access to the Idea-Exchange Forum!

I also neglected to say that the Speaking of Success program comes with two valuable resources — "Five Stages of a Pro Speaking Career" (an audio overview of the high points – and pitfalls – that are found on every pro speaker's career path) and "55 Ways to Make Money as a Pro Speaker" (as the title implies, 55 different ways that you can enjoy a profitable career as a pro speaker). Both of these valuable resources are included — free — with Speaking of Success... but as before, you must register first before you can access them!

So register for Speaking of Success now, and I look forward to your joining me for the sessions on June 2 and 3! (I'll also talk to you on the Idea-Exchange Forum before then!)

For now, I leave you now with three wishes:

P.S. — You may be concerned that the Speaking of Success program is just going to be a big commercial for Pro Speaking 101 or my team coaching programs. I understand why you'd be suspicious... I've attended some free teleseminars where I was very irritated with how little real content came with the "commercial". They wasted my time, and frankly, I felt ripped off.

I don't approve of that. I won't do it to you.

Now I'll admit that I'm putting on Speaking of Success so that people will consider signing up for PS101 or my coaching programs. But rather than wasting your time with a "commercial message" during Speaking of Success, I'll just give you the commercial right now —

I think Pro Speaking 101 will help a lot of people who need it, and frankly, it's a real bargain. If you're the slightest bit interested in advancing your career in professional speaking, I urge you to look into it further. (It doesn't cost anything to look.)

Ditto my Team Coaching programs.

Ditto my one-on-one Personal Coaching sessions.

There. That's it. That's my only sales pitch. And now Speaking of Success will be two hours of solid, valuable content -- nothing else. I promise.

I hope you'll join me! Here's to your success!!!
