“Speaking of the Future”

Are you sick and tired
of going it alone?

The speaker's life is terrific... but it can also be lonely.

Many people don't understand that. They see professional speakers inundated with praise from their grateful audiences, and they can't fathom how much a speaker yearns to talk to a fellow professional — someone who understands the business, someone who shares the same challenges.

And then there's the fact that really good professional speakers, like any masters of their craft, make it look easy. Most people can't appreciate how much work goes into market analysis, topic development, speechwriting, product development, honing platform skills, and marketing & promotion! But where can professional speakers go to get the guidance and support that they so desperately need?

Of course, there are programs like Pro Speaker U's Pro Speaking 101 (early June 2010) and Copywriting for Power and Profit (late June). But many speakers like the advantages of a less structured approach... they want the benefits of coaching!

Coaching is great! You receive personalized guidance from an experienced professional, to meet your individual needs. But coaching has one disadvantage — it's incredibly expensive, and so it's out of the reach of speakers who may be somewhat cash-strapped. (Unfortunately, they're the ones who oftentimes need it the most.)

That's why I'm so pleased to offer a new approach to career guidance for professional speakers — team coaching! (I like "team" better than "group", because you and your fellow team members will be committed to your mutual success, just like a sports team.) With team coaching, you receive many of the same benefits of individualized coaching, but at a fraction of the cost.

All team coaching sessions are an hour in length, so they won't impact your already-crowded schedule. Sessions are conducted by telephone, so you can be on the road and still participate. (You don't even need to be at a computer!) And there's no long-term (or even short-term) contract to sign. You simply pay by the month, and you can quit anytime you want.

How much does team coaching cost? My personal coaching services are a bargain at $127 an hour, so $77 is a steal for a month's worth of weekly coaching sessions! (That's under $20 per session!)

But it gets even better! As the team grows in size, the price per individual falls! I need at least 6 people to form a team, but when the team grows to 11 members, each member of the team pays only $67 a month!

Then as the team continues to grow, the cost continues to drop... eventually to less than half the normal price. That's right — once your team has reached "critical mass", you pay only $37 for an entire month of team coaching!

Want specifics? Here they are....

When the
number of
team members is...
  Your investment
for a month
of team coaching
is only....
6-10 $77
11-20 $67
21-40 $57
41-70 $47
71 or more  $37

But team coaching has one obvious drawback — it can't work without a team!

So here's my problem. I'm pleased to offer three team coaching opportunities... but you can't join any of them yet. Why not? Because the team coaching can't begin until I have a "team" to coach.

But my problem is your unprecedented opportunity — you can design your own coaching team! Rather than my telling you when the teams will meet, you tell me which team(s) you're interested in joining, and what days and times are convenient to you!

You have no commitment! I don't want a deposit to reserve your space on the team. (I don't even want your credit card info as a "sign of good faith" like some people do.) An indication of your sincere interest is enough for me.

So let's get started! Just tell me which coaching team(s) you're interested in, and which schedule(s) work best for you. And when I get sufficient people interested in the same topic at the same time, we'll form a team.

Here are the "teams" that I will initially form —

  • Rising Starsa team of aspiring and beginning speakers or trainers. Unlike the Pro Speaking 101 Program, which lasts for only 4 days and has a pre-defined approach to the skills you need for your speaking career, the Rising Stars coaching sessions will focus on the particular topics that are of greatest interest to the team members.

  • Net Prophetsa team of website owners (but not geeks) looking to improve their websites and / or develop e-commerce sites. This is for people who want to strengthen — or discover — their skills in HTML, XHTML, CSS, php, and Javascript. It will not be concerned with content development. (See the Easy Writers group if that's what you want.)

Some prior programming (such as basic HTML) is helpful, but not required. Even if you're a novice at web programming, join in! You'll have to do a lot of outside studying, but you'll learn SOOOO much!

  • Easy Writersa team of people seeking to strengthen their copywriting skills. Focuses include headlines, copy for your website or e-commerce site, direct sales letters, promotional copy for your book's back cover, or any sort of "sales" copy where you want to persuade your readers to take action.

(If you're curious, I wrote all of the copy for Pro Speaker U. The copy that you're reading now is the best demonstration of my own copywriting skills.)

Now it's your turn. All I need to know is:

  1. Which coaching session(s) are you interested in?
  2. Which days and times are good for you?
  3. What frequency do you want to meet?

As soon as I can get at least six people who want the same group coaching in the same timeframe, we'll get started!

Jim, I want to be a part of PSU team coaching!

My name (first and last, please) is:

And my email address is:

I want to join this coaching team when it is formed:

Rising Stars — a team of aspiring and beginning speakers or trainers
Net Prophets — a team of non-geeks looking to learn how to improve their websites and / or develop e-commerce sites.
Easy Writers — a team of people seeking to strengthen their copywriting skills.

(Check more than one box if you want to belong to more than one team. And if there are any other coaching teams that you're interested in, describe them in the "comments" box below....)

And the days / times that I prefer are:

Sundays at 8 p.m. EDT
(I think that's in your local time)

Mondays at 10 a.m. EDT
(I think that's in your local time)

Mondays at 3 p.m. EDT
(I think that's in your local time)

Mondays at 9:30 p.m. EDT
(I think that's in your local time)

Tuesdays at 2 p.m. EDT
(I think that's in your local time)

Wednesdays at 11 a.m. EDT
(I think that's in your local time)

Thursdays at 2 p.m. EDT
(I think that's in your local time)

Any other coaching teams you'd like to see created? Any comments or questions?

When you've described your preferred team characteristics, just click the button....

That's all there is to it. As soon as I get enough people (at least 6) interested in the same topic at the same time, I'll let you know and we'll get our team organized!

I'm really excited about the potential that team coaching has to boost your career, and I'm really looking forward to working with you!
